A recessed zipper is always something that I wanted to learn how to make. There are different methods of inserting a recessed zipper and I have tried them all. I've seen several different top zippers in a purse but the recessed zipper just gives an extra something that you didn't know you needed. I love bagmaking. When I started sewing I would only sew garments but I would watch YouTube videos on how to make clutch bags and various other types of bags. I used to wish that I could do it. So one day I decided that I would make a clutch bag so I found a couple of videos on YouTube on being @stylesewme and I made my first clutch bag. Now the corners were wonky and it was oddly shaped but I was glad that I was able to accomplish it. Eventually I ventured off into making different types of bags I found some free bag patterns online and some YouTube videos to help make certain patterns. Then one day I got this crazy idea about making my own bag patterns and that’s when the Erin Pouch was born. After my first pattern I decided that I wanted to make more so I just kept going. One of the things I love about bagmaking is being able to show others how to make the bags as well. I love doing this on my YouTube channel, if you had told me back in 2014 (I thought I started in 2015 but my blog has receipts lol) when I started sewing that I will have a YouTube channel I would’ve laughed in your face. I’m fascinated by handbags that have that extra feature on the outside that makes it stand out more than anything else. I’m not a bling girl, but I will admit that a little bling never hurt anyone! LOL! One of the best features I find on the outside of a handbag is a zipper pocket. There is so much you can do with that feature, you can use an accent color for the zipper, the zipper pull can have a little decoration, the list goes on and on.
