A telemetry analysis as well as some GPS ones showed that Ferrari ran with more aggressive engine modes compared to Mercedes and Red Bull. Indeed further analysis estimated a +0.7s gap between Ferrari and MB just on the straights!

Sector times are very representative to understand where Seb actually gained time and put +0.035s between him and his teammate Charles Leclerc

S1: 28.286s (+0.107)
S2: 38.250s
S3: 22.310s

The German actually committed a big mistake running wide in the last corners losing a great +0.1/0.2s. Anyway, Seb made the difference in the 2nd and 3rd sector with Leclerc being slightly faster in the combined section.

During both laps, (Charles’ and Seb’s) the car looked pretty well balanced and smooth in fast corners. Traction was a little tricky but still, Ferrari made a huge difference compared to Mercedes.
