High Contrast! Wet Balayage... This was achieved in several sessions on previously highlighted hair and her natural base color is a level 5/6. I applied her root Melt first using @schwarzkopfusa Igora Vibrance 6-12 & 7-1 with 13 volume followed immediately with her wet balayage Application using Vario Super Blonde Plus and 10 volume as this was our second session and she was pretty light already. Toned with Vibrance 9,5-21

Only a few days left to enter OneShot! Getting down to the wire. I seriously can’t imagine going through hundreds of thousands of submissions
Thank You to everyone that came today! I enjoyed meeting all of you!! Here’s the finished model from my class today! I did an extremely heavy paint and fully saturated the ends.
I painted with 50g Wella Blondor 25g Freelights 40 volume and Olaplex
Midshaft and Ends with Freelights and 20 volume with Olaplex

I’m going to rant for a minute I’m sorry!

My personal painting style is to enhance the natural with layers of tones and levels achieved over sessions. If your base is this dark, I cannot make you blonde with balayage unless you’re willing to commit to over a year of regular painting sessions. Hair also lifts warm and fades warm so please don’t ask for ash tones unless you’re ready to commit to toning appointments regularly as well. I feel like I screwed up and I dropped the ball recently with a couple of clients and maybe got complacent, and I failed to really take the time to explain everything the way I should have(terrible mistake on my part, people don’t know what you don’t tell them!!). I felt a lot of guilt like I let them down so I just wanted to kind of make this PSA.
.
I feel like @camouflageandbalayage said it best, Hair is not ordered like steak on a menu. It’s not tattoo flash on a wall. I can’t just put a picture on your head. Your hair is unique to you and has its own history and thus has its own set of challenges and variables. I push the limits as much as I can while staying safe. If your hair isn’t light enough, it’s because it wasn’t possible. If your hair isn’t ashy enough, it’s because it wasn’t possible.
.
As stylists, we don’t just decide not give you what you asked for to make you mad. We do what the hair allows us to. When you say “I wanted it lighter” we think, “I did too.” Most of the jaw dropping hair colors I’ve created that clients send me from my Instagram, were created over 3+ sessions. Each time perfecting and adding new elements. The process is different for everyone, but one thing is the same for everyone: we are starting a journey together. You have to be patient and you have to trust me. There is always a method to my madness. If you get your hair done once a year, if you want a huge transformation in a single sitting, if you don’t have the budget for a hair appointment every 8 weeks... We might not be a good match for each other. If you’re open minded and patient, I can create some really amazing things. Each stylist is different in the way they create their art. This is just how I do it.
