Yup...that's banana peel and you know what, it's amazing When prepared correctly (*and I cannot stress that enough*), I think it has a better texture than jackfruit . Fight me So here's what I did! ▪️Organic Bananas! Mine were mostly yellow (swipe for pic) ▪️Wash em! ▪️Peel em and shred the peel with a fork (some recipes call for removing the pith (white stuff)...I think it's unnecessary, I left it) *Try to get a pretty thin shred on them, pull the fork down and then at different angles to get smaller threads* ▪️Marinate! I used @marionskitchen Thai Pepper & Garlic marinade for these. I recommend a strong one! I also grated two cloves of garlic and added a bit of @bravadospice Black Garlic & Carolina Reaper hot sauce. The first time I made this I marinated for 3 hours...this time was overnight! I think overnight was a bit better. ▪️Melt some unrefined coconut oil in a pan, add all contents of the marinade bag to the pan and put over med heat. Add about a cup of water, cover, and bring to a simmer. ▪️Simmer for about 20 min, until water is mostly gone. Then add another cup of water and repeat. Gotta break em down . Taste your sauce and adjust. I added a little more hot sauce and some red pepper flakes ️ ▪️When water is mostly gone, remove cover and cook down a bit more. I then added a bit of regular BBQ sauce, just for some sweetness. Cook on med-low until it starts getting kinda sticky. I then spread it out on a sheet pan and broiled for just a few min, for some crispy bits. Watch it carefully ⭐ Then done!! Served on a buttery bun with fried onions There are so many possibilities here! Season it and sauce it how you like it When I mentioned this in my stories, some of you had FEELINGS about it But I promise, I wouldn't lie about this... it's awesome. We've got people munching on dead animal parts but a banana peel scares ya...okay *for the record, I'm still team seitan ...but this is a fantastic gluten free and soy free option!*

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Miniature Peeled Banana - Tutorial Video. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is how I created my Miniature Peeled Bananas in yesterday's post. All handmade using Fimo Clay. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Extras: - I mix an even amount of white and translucent white + a tiny bit of sunflower yellow clay to get the colour of the banana + the inside of the banana peel. - Mix white and sunflower yellow for the outside of the banana peel colour. - Bake the banana for 10 minutes then add the peel to it with a bit of Liquid Fimo Clay. - I use a pasta machine to roll out the thin strips of clay (a rolling pin should work too). - At the end I used acrylic brown paint for the spots on the banana peel. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I hope you find this video helpful! One sunset as I was biking around, my ears caught the slightly garbled broadcast of a cheesy joke and a laugh track. Seems fitting that that was coming out of a 12-foot banana peel made out of steel. Apparently anyone can go into the banana to record a joke that then gets fitted with a pre-recorded laugh track and sent out onto the playa via megaphone.
