-The word bardo means an intermediate state, a gap or period of suspension when one situation has come to an end and another has not yet developed. It occurs in the interval of two states of mind, as well as between states of existence such as birth and death. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ . ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ .⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ -In Tibetan Buddhism the ritual consists of the dying or recently dead persons guru or spiritual friend sitting by the corpse, if the corpse isn’t available they should sit on their bed calling their name 3 times and reading out loud to the person from the “Tibetan book of the dead ➡️“ as if they were there. Different parts of the book are read on different days, With the goal being to help guide the dead person through the dangerous path of the bardo and helping them become liberated before reincarnation is necessary. The fundamental teaching of the book is for the dead person to realize that everything he/she sees after death both good and bad are all projections of their own mind and to not be afraid of it thus being liberated from the visions.
