With that in mind, I recently took a course by one of my favourite insta artists @kathrynbeals. She has developed a specialized technique for adding gold leaf to paintings. I've practiced this technique before but not with such precision results. Thank you Kathryn. When sanding small parts I have to get creative! And this time clamping my belt sander down to my assembly table work great. Much easier than trying to hand sand every piece... although I did touch up any sharp edges afterwards by hand. — If you are following my stories you know I am making some scrap wood projects and all I can tell you is that they are turning out AWESOME. But it was a slow start... because I went into without a true true plan and just let my scraps speak to me. Well they weren’t talking that loud yesterday! It is funny how I have all these creative ideas all the time when I am building something else, but when it came time to be creative I had a slow start. I think it is good practice to sometimes just let our minds go and don’t think too much and just build something. It really helps me learn new things and find more of my style. And even though I had the slow start once I stopped thinking and just started cutting and drilling and gluing... AWESOMENESS just happened.
