In ‪2016, Tangee and Dr.‬ Shawnrell Blackwell founded Avail Outpatient Counseling LLC @availcounseling, a mind-body practice. She offers person-centered, healing-focused, and goal-directed psychotherapy. Tangee uses Evidenced-Based Conventional Therapies in conjunction with Complementary and Alternative Therapies such as meditation ‍♀️‍♂️, mindfulness, nutritional counseling , and stress management (i.e., progressive relaxation, guided imagery, deep-breathing exercises). Her holistic and therapeutic approach encompasses the whole person including physical, mental , emotional, spiritual, social, and environmental aspects. Her overarching vision is to help people connect the dots as they explore dysfunctional or non-beneficial ways of thinking, eating, relating, and behaving, and to support them in incorporating new ways of existing that lead to abundance, fulfillment, and congruence. Enjoli Moon is the founder and creative director of the Afrikana Independent Film Festival where she specializes in creating platforms for filmmakers of color to share authentic narratives through her film festival, as well as through her curatorial work. Meet @eiradicate Ariel Mack is an elementary education major at VCU with hopes to not only teach students the building blocks of education but also how to persevere regardless of what life they have been given. Creative writing has definitely helped and continuously helps Ariel in her darkest times, which allows her to express her interpretations of reality most organically and genuinely. She plans to always create space for journaling, especially while operating as a teacher, so that students who experience hardships and trauma, but find difficulty with articulating those emotions can utilize creative writing as a vessel for their voice. Meet @aye.mariah A'Shawnta Sherman attended John Marshall High School and is now finishing her last semester to receive a B.A. In Anthropology from Sweet Briar College. She is passionate about different forms of art, but chooses to focus on fiber artistry; wearable art. She is the founder of Sherman Design Co. @shermandesignco cultivates creative styles to fit all demographics; from streetwear to high fashion. Meet @chelseahiggswise Chelsea Higgs Wise is a social worker and intercultural communicator who specializes in connecting underserved and misrepresented communities to policymakers to advocate against racism and misogyny✊✊✊✊. As an activist who helps evolve narratives and policies, Chelsea also engages in the community as WRIR's co-host of Women and Politics as well as a contributing writer of RVA Magazine . Chelsea values genuine connection, authentic relationships, and meaningful impact within her city; she values working with some of the coolest people in Richmond on feminine hygiene drives, diversity education summits and leadership initiatives for young adults.
