It’s only been one week but my experience at LA county hospital has been amazing and I have learned a ton. I recently had call during the 4th of July and it was a very impactful experience. If you’d like to know a bit more about it keep reading, otherwise I hope you have an amazing day! . My call day involved an earthquake, several car accident victims, firework blast victims, and even a patient who was attacked by a pit bull mastiff (that dog is scary) . The earthquake occurred while we were in the OR. Our patient started to move vigorously, and we were about to tell the anesthesiologist, but we noticed that the patient wasn’t the only one moving... the entire room was shaking; we were having an earthquake. Fortunately everyone was safe and we did not have any complications as a result of the earthquake. . Consults started out with a pedestrian who got hit by a car and experienced fractures of the humerus bilaterally. Then another car accident victim with an open ankle fracture arrived in the ED. Afterwards people with firework injuries started arriving. We saw people who had gotten part of their hands blown off, had fingers missing, and even experienced traumatic forearm fractures from the firework blasts. Finally we took care of the dog attack victim. The dog had gotten a hold of her arm and fractured her wrist I. The process . From an educational perspective, my call was a great learning experience... nonetheless it was hard to see that these people were in pain and that their lives would change as a result of a single event, yet it was comforting to know that we were there to help. I felt like I was part of a cohesive team in which I had a specific role, but most importantly, I was able to appreciate the impact that orthopedic surgeons have on the lives of people. The residents did an amazing job and I respect their work and their skills like never before. At the end of the day I left with a smile on my face and was reassured that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. _____________________________________________________________

Sagrada Familia... Barcelona¿Sabías qué... ✍️...⤵️⤵️⤵️ Hola Nómadas!!! Como bien sabeis estamos por Barcelona! Y nuestra primera parada a sido nada más y nada menos que la Sagrada Familia! Asi que después de enseñaros nuestro nuevo proyecto con videos vamos a contaros un poquito sobre este lugar que os traemos hoy ❤️ . . ⬇️ HISTORIA de la SAGRADA FAMILIA La Sagrada Familia es el monumento más famoso de Barcelona, una basílica católica diseñada por Antonio Gaudí que empezó a construirse en 1882 y todavía no está terminada. Hay que decir que es la iglesia más visitada de Europa después de la basílica de San Pedro del Vaticano. La construcción de esta a sido financiada por donaciones privadas y el coste de la entrada, así que si han ido a visitarla vosotros mismos habéis aportado para su construcción, ¿Interesante no?❓❗️ . . ⬇️ CURIOSIDADES . 1⃣. En la fachada de la Pasión hay un curioso cuadro el cual parece un sudoku y la suma de sus números siempre da 33, la edad en la que murió Cristo. 2⃣. Cuando se termine, la sagrada familia contará con 18 torres. Las 12 más bajitas representan a los apóstoles, las cuatro  más altas a los evangelistas, otra más elevada a la Virgen María y la más elevada, con una cruz presidiéndola, a Jesucristo. 3⃣. De las tres fachadas que tendrá el templo, están acabadas la del Nacimiento y la de la Pasión. La tercera, la de la Gloria está por terminar. 4⃣. No fue Gaudí quien puso la primera piedra, como sería lógico pensar. Incrustada dentro de una roca gigante es uno de los atractivos místicos con una historia espectacular.
