Sunday inspo: succulents in everything.

"Peace, be still, I Am here..." That's the phrase I've kept coming back to for the past month. With an insane number of things going on in my personal and business life, I have the tendency to get overwhelmed 12 times out of 10. It's bad. I'm impatient, rude, short with people, and just kind of a jerk. I don't like that version of me. The best possible version of me comes when I remember my identity isn't in what I do but in who Christ says I am. He calls me His own. He calls me His son. That's my identity. That's the foundation that won't let me down. That's where I find my stillness....and that's where I find my hope.

I listened to a remarkable podcast yesterday by @edmylett that challenged how we see in the moment. We determine our future success (or failure) based on this moment. When we give way to our feelings in this moment, we can derail our future potential and often quit. . . It made me think of a simple phrase that has been with me over the past 2 years. Bloom where you are planted. To do so, I need to be intentional, in every season, to be fully present. To not expect summer blooms in winter. But also, to know, if I don’t plant seeds, which means investing and not seeing immediate gratification, I’ll have an empty garden next spring. . . This may be the best season of your life, or one where you are doing all the work, wondering where the yield is. Stay with it. Keep planting, tending, working. Encourage others, ESPECIALLY those who are achieving their goals and flourishing. Because it’s easy to encourage those you perceive as behind you. But character cheers on those behind... and in front of you. Cheer on, dear friends!

Not all wedding clients stay wedding clients. @trevorbohl and @karenanne4 are proof of this. Almost 2 years ago, Trevor contacts me out of the blue to tell me he’s proposing to his girlfriend. I got to be a part of that glorious moment, travel halfway across Texas to Palo Duro canyon for their engagement session, secretly sneak around the Japanese Gardens for Karen’s Bridals and NOW their incredible wedding day. These are no longer just clients. I love these people like my brother and sister. Weddings take time and weddings are intimate. I’m over the freaking moon for these two. I love you guys and I can’t wait to post more about your gushy mushy love for the masses.

With a wedding every weekend this month, and me getting sick last week, Instagram has taken a back seat. Im coming in hot with this fire set up of Hannah’s dress in front of their altar in hopes of making up for my absence. One more wedding to finish out our spring season, and then a short break before summer gets rolling and my house gets torn up. Reno is FINALLY happening. I think. Also, we have some @theelevateseries announcements coming next week Ok, off to take a shot of Nyquil, my bed, and season 7 of The Office. Back to work tomorrow.
