I had no idea that this man was going a walk into my life and sweep me off my feet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We go through life and there are good times and bad times, we all experience that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You never know when life is going to change. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It could happen in an instant. We don't know what's around the corner. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I didn't know I was going to have to wait 47 years to find my soulmate. Learning about marketing, ads or whatever is necessary for growing your business. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Bit by bit you can learn absolutely everything you need to know. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I know that you can figure all this stuff out. When you are creating something there might be a moment where a voice in your head tells you “this isn’t good enough”? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Every creative designer in the world knows that there will be a part in every creative project when it hasn’t quite come together yet and is not fully formed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There is an uncomfortable time when you don’t know what *it* is going to turn out like yet and you are not yet happy with how *it* looks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is the time where the inner critic in your head will probably come to you and say “this is rubbish” or “you should never have started this”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is natural, this is normal, this is what ALL creatives go through! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is part of the creative process. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is where you need to be strong… You need to ignore the voices in your head and keep going. Don’t let them stop you… You have to be OK with going through the uncomfortable feeling that you get when it is not great YET. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I can say this with conviction because I have been creating and designing things every day since I went to art college when I was 19 years old and I have been through this countless times. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tell the voices in your head that it is OK. Tell them to back off for a while. My youngest #babygirl is somehow in high school. How did that happen? Mamas young and Mamas old... I don’t think we ever stop questioning whether we spent enough time together. Or did we do enough to build their characters and self-esteem. When my girls were little the days could drag on and you think they’ll last forever. And we find ourselves always looking forward to the next phase. ...but then they literally go from 10 to 18 in what feels like a year. Cherish it. You were perfectly chosen for your babies. And they were perfectly chosen for you. You’re doing a great job. I promise. ‍♀️❤️ .... and my baby is now a freshman.

One more week until we leave for Pittsburgh.❤️ I’m super sad. But also excited for her. And so proud. I remember when I first left for college and being on my own to discover myself was the biggest gift. So now I’m giving it to her. What will I do without the long red hairs I find in every sofa and every item of my clothing‍ I’ve memorized the way she sits on her bed, journaling thinking no one is watching. How she smells so yummy, and how I love when her freckles pop out in the summer. Our late night after dance chats over gummy bears and laughs. One more week baby girl❤️

I got Bentley 3 years ago. I was so consumed by an eating disorder to take good care of him and ended up finding him a new home. Why? Because I felt like I couldn’t love him. All I cared about was being skinny and fighting for my worth - by eating “perfectly,” waking up at 4AM to workout for 2-3 hours every day, and sticking to my routine and comfort zones. I isolated myself from friends, family and love. I withheld from myself and therefore others, others and therefore myself. Break ups, the death of loved ones, etc really didn’t have much of an impact on me. I was just too focused on being skinny and if I was skinny then everything was fine. It’s how I “protected” myself. . Since committing my life to love on my last birthday (Nov 23rd), I’ve had a lot of feelings come up that I had repressed and ignored over the last couple years. Giving Bentley up has to be the hardest thing to face. It makes me panic and feel claustrophobic to think that I’ll never see him again. It breaks my heart to think of what he thought and went through when I brought him to his new parents and then drove away. I just wanted him to be loved and I couldn’t do that. But, he sure did love me. Way more that I loved me. . I literally wake up sweating and heart broken from dreams about him. I’ve felt way more emotions today alone than I have over the course of 4 years. There really is only one problem (separation from Love - our forgetfulness) and it just manifests differently in each of our lives. For me, an eating disorder was how I protected myself from the illusion that separation could exist. . I’m here to tell you that separation doesn’t exist. You don’t have to protect yourself. You are Love and only Love is real!

WEIRD WAYS TO BUILD YOUR EMAIL LIST⁠⠀ I was talking with @minimadesigns, my designer/developer/guru for all things digital, wondering, "What would I tell beginner me to do to get subscribers on my list - like, if I didn't have the huge leg up from being listed as a resource for years by Marie Forleo -- and from being one of her testimonials?"⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ She said, "Well, there you go - that's exactly what people should do, get listed as a resource. Or a case study. Or testimonial." ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Oh. Duh. It's not an unfair edge, it's something you can do, too. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Try it! Reach out to online platforms or services you use and love, tell them how they've helped you, and suggest they spotlight you. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ EXAMPLE: Say you use a Wordpress theme for your site: you can reach out to the developers and submit your site for their showcase. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Or say you use Etsy in an unexpected way - like for selling tacos. You can offer to write them a blog post about how it drives your taco business. (Totally making this up, don't know that you could sell tacos on Etsy. Paintings or puffy pins of tacos, definitely. )⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ As for testimonials, people find me from the ones I've given colleagues and mentors, all the time. Be a superstar in someone's program and then tell them about your results.
