Learned a lesson about my slingshot technique after posting a picture of me practicing the other day. First photo is from the same slingshot practice session other day and I found out I was shooting the sling WRONG way (rookie mistake). My buddy @ffoowwlleerr_ told me that the bands on the sling are supposed to go OVER the top... which might explain why I shot myself in the thumb and have a nice nail bruise now. So in the first photo my slingshot is rigged incorrectly. I also dying inside a little at how I look so happy and determined in first photo... even though I was basically shooting it backwards. Second pic is collecting pebbles (slingshot ammo) by the Snake River. I found that my accuracy is 1000 times better when the pebbles are symmetrical and smooth. I read that some shooters can go up to 110 yards with a slingshot which is pretty nuts. As of now, I’m feeling happy when I hit my target at 20 feet away (baby steps here). I’m probably going to adjust the bands as they are not shooting it as fast as I would like but I am also not comfortable pulling back the ammo past the anchor point I use for archery . Anyhoo, leaving this river tomorrow and off for some more driving. I’m sure I’ll see more of the Snake River along my way as it stretches over 1,000 miles. ⠀ Slingshot by @ooakforge
