Just another day in Provence ... let's move some sheep through town. . You could spend your entire life in the south of France and you would not run out of things to do. This past Monday we visited the town of Saint Rémy de Provence for a very special town festival. Thousands of sheep were being moved through town to celebrate the ancient practice of transhumance (moving of livestock to new pastures). I don't think I have to tell you that this festival will delight everyone. Why should you visit Aix-en-Provence . The reasons are many. Not only is this once capital of Provence a beautiful little city, it's almost impossible to get bored here. There is always something going on. Sometimes it's difficult to choose what to do. For example, this weekend, the biggest event in town is a festival called C'est Sud. But we also saw some art from previous centuries. And we saw some specimens from nearby archaeological digs. But our favourite museum was one that focused on the history of the town. . Did you know the first Sunday of each month is "free museum day" in France? . A lot of museums are free of charge on the first Sunday of the month. So today we decided to visit a bunch of museums in our town of Aix-en-Provence. Kas had the idea of doing that. It's an extra long weekend in France this weekend (four days!). We had planned to stay home every other day and do a day trip in between. So we were supposed to do two day trips this weekend but we ended having only one. Kas said: "Why don't we just stay in Aix and sightsee our town on Sunday?" And we're glad we did. We discovered some new cool things about Aix and got ideas for future sightseeing around town. .
