Come back next week." His fingers worked quickly over some leather, pulling stitches tight along the seam. I tapped my hand against my bag a few times, looking at the walls of leather on spools and shelves with tools I didn't know how to use. This was the best cobbler around. I didn't want to go anywhere else. And I didn't have time to wait for a week. _I stepped forward, getting closer to the man as he worked, back hunched, focused on the shoe in his hand. "It can't wait. I need something today." He didn't seem to hear me. "Sir. Please. I will pay for a rush job." Behind me, I heard Daemon snort. Finally the man looked up. _"Ain't got time for no rush job, girlie. I ain't need it, neither. Busy. Get out and come back next week." He glanced at my feet instead of my face. "Ain't nothin' wrong with yer boots. Get out." He turned away again and kept working. _I bit my lip harder, shifting my weight between my feet. I wanted to use the coin I had taken from Daemon to pay for the shoes, but I knew if I wanted this done, I was going to have to take a small risk. #seasonal strawberry rhubarb cobbler is one of my absolute favorites!! This is so easy to make, absolutely delicious and perfect for #memorialdayweekend . We are serving ours with big scoops of @lunaandlarrys vanilla ice cream yay but you can choose whatever ice cream you love. You can also serve it as is or another favorite is homemade whipped cream or coconut cream! Yum. Anyway this gets served it is definitely a success and I sweetened this naturally but feel free to replace the maple syrup with regular sugar. All the details are below . Enjoy from @chef_emery ‍‍❤️❤️ox 1 tbs butter 2 pints fresh strawberries washed, hulled and sliced 5-6 large stalks of fresh rhubarb washed, ends removed and chopped 3 tbs #nongmo corn starch Pinch of sea salt 1/2 cup real maple syrup Juice of half a fresh lemon 1 cup #glutenfree or regular oatmeal oats. I used @naturespathorganic qia oatmeal. 1 1/2 cup regular flour or I used @pamelasproducts gluten free baking flour Pinch of sea salt 1/2 cup real maple syrup 1 1/2 sticks of #grassfed #cultured butter @organicvalley cut into pieces #bestbutterever Preheat your oven to 375 Take a medium oven safe casserole dish and grease with the 1 tbs of butter, then set aside briefly. Take a large bowl and add fresh strawberries, rhubarb, corn starch, sea salt, maple syrup and lemon juice. Toss well, then set aside briefly and let the flavors come together for 5 minutes. Now pour the fruit into your buttered casserole dish, then set aside briefly. Take another medium sized and add oats, flour, sea salt, maple syrup and butter. Use a fork or clean hands and combine all the ingredients till it makes a dough like consistency. Then, crumble the dough over the top of the fruit evenly. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes till golden brown and bubbly. Let cool a few minutes than serve.
