I’ve had a whole bunch of people ask me about solid handle scales for the Drifter... the Drifter was intentionally and ergonomically designed for cord wrap, for good reason. What about 3V? As a custom maker, I find for a knife made to cut that 4V will support better geometry and will have better wear resistance than 3V If I want durability, I can use geometry and lower hardness with 4V rather than dropping to 3V. It's worth mentioning that CPM Cruwear is a nice sweet spot in toughness between 3V and 4V as well. However, I max the 4V out for cutting performance, not durability. I like the insane hardness it gets. I find there are tougher steels than 3V I'd rather use like Z-Tuff, CPM1V or S5 ig I need absolute, raw toughness. Nothing wrong with 3V, just opening peoples minds to other possibilities. People are stuck with what there know and companies don't give people any options. #knifesteelmeme #cpm4v #cpm3v #cpmm4
