April monthly layout in my bullet journal. This month has been a mixed bag so far - I've been loving all the extra light since the clocks changed and have found myself in a good mood more often than not. But alongside that, I've found my structure slipping, tasks getting left and progress stalling. There is a small part of me wondering if there is an element of self-sabotage in here somewhere, little shifts designed to keep me in my safe zone. So, over this weekend, I'll be spending some time looking at where I am and where I'd like to be towards the end of the month. Gentle, achievable goals that give me some direction for the next two weeks. I chatted with a client today about setting goals that we have control over - the difference between "Get to 600 followers" and "Post to Instagram three times a week". It makes it much easier to hold yourself accountable because the outcome solely depends on you and not on the whims of other people. So that will be my focus - things that I myself can do and feel good about once they're ticked off my list and that I can't try to wriggle myself out of! . How do you keep yourself accountable to your goals and/or intentions? Maybe you use trackers, or have a friend hold you accountable. Perhaps you prefer to tell people you'll deliver something before it's done and the gentle pressure helps you do it. 'The Good Sh*t' log - a place to recognise the small wins without the expectation to be grateful about them. Sometimes it takes all we have to brush our teeth and splash our face - and it's okay that you don't always feel thankful for it. It's been a year since I posted this spread! I've noticed that I often write down things related to food - that I made some, or we ate something good - so this month I'm trying to note down other things, too. And this takes a little effort to fill my time with those other things! I'm hoping it means some more short walks with my Almost Wife, snuggle time with the cats and paying attention to a cuppa and a biscuit. Wait. That's still technically food... . Day 13 #myshoplife19 ~Learn what not to do~ Well we still feel like we have no idea what we are doing even though we are going into our 5th year! Definitely do your own thing and dont compare yourself to others. What makes all these lovely independent shops so amazing is their uniqueness. Don't worry what anyone else thinks because as long as you know your trying your best {probably working harder than you've ever worked before!} that's all that matters. Things have changed A LOT in that 5 years and its really easy to doubt yourself and you have to learn you can't please everyone, people will come in who are not your customers {or even just stare through the door at you and then walk off!} and that's ok. But as long as you are doing what you love and staying true to yourself things will all be ok in the end
