It’s been a while since I’ve posted a #beforeandafter so for a double treat, here’s a second angle of my backside in a week #yourewelcome and what it looked like with the old extension. I find it so conflicting having lived in both spaces. I loved the charm of the original mish mash of extensions but they were built for a different time and didn’t quite fit for us. It was a shock when the Architects decided that from scratch was the way to go and it broke my heart to tear out all the planting but if you look and make comparisons, you’ll spot all the changes and things that have been replaced (as sympathetically as possible) and hopefully to everyone else that visits, it’s like it’s always been there.. . . On his 80th birthday, Haze Mabry, aka “Mr. Haze,” got a surprise parade from the more than 750 students, teachers and staff at the school where he’s worked as a custodian for the past 13 years. The students chanted his name as they led him through the halls of Pike County Elementary School in Zebulon, Georgia, and presented him with 80 reasons why they all love him. "I feel great. You know, all them little kids, they call my name, they're giving me cards, they're running up and hugging me. ... It's something else, you know," Mabry said. "It's a lifetime experience." Via @cnn
