When trouble swirls around me, I will cling to the One who is my peace. I will cling to Jesus. This peace and joy is not dependent on my circumstances, but on who He is. . So often we desire our circumstances to change...but sometimes He is using those circumstances to make us who He wants us to be. So peace and rejoicing can happen right in the midst of trials, or suffering, or just a bad day. Because my peace and joy are not dependent on everything going the way that I think it should. My peace and joy are dependent on who He is. So even in the waiting I can trust Him. And even in the struggle I can rest in His sovereign plan. He is my peace, my joy, and my hope.

• Feeling weary? Feeling afraid? Feeling alone? Feeling unheard? God DOES hear you! That broken relationship. That unfulfilled dream. That wandering child. That addiction. That depression. That disease. Those teenage sighs. That new driver. That child heading to college. That struggle. That blow of devastating news. Inhale truth. GOD LOVES YOU MORE THAN YOU KNOW. GOD LOVES THEM MORE THAN YOU DO. Exhale surrender. Exhale peace.

• God, thank you that the work of Your Son secured my salvation. Help me not be idly content in this alone. Help me work it out here on earth, renewing my mind and transforming into Your daughter who will be presented to You one day in full transparency. Mold my life in such a way as to someday hear you say: Well done, good and faithful servant. Welcome home. Isn’t it beautiful? Come, sit at my table and dine with me.

• “If you get tired learn to rest, not to quit.” • I love this reminder because often we run ourselves so ragged we just want to QUIT. ALL. THE. THINGS. But sometimes all we need is some rest. It’s in our DNA. It’s how we were created. God modeled it and even commanded it. Girl, get some rest! • On this Sabbath day and upcoming holiday weekend, soak in the beauty of rest and REKINDLE that passion from your Creator. • Whatever RECHARGES you, do it. A long walk, sitting by a lake or on a blanket at a park or in a cozy corner of a quiet coffee shop. Perhaps with a cup of coffee, worship music quietly playing, and journal in hand. • Take time to REST your soul with your Savior. • Take time to REFLECT on where you have been and where you want to go. • Take time to REMEMBER your passion and goals. • Take time to RE-ALIGN where things may be veering off course. • Take time to RE-FOCUS on things that really matter. • Take time to REJOICE in victories, no matter how small. • Take time to RE-VISIT your vision…or create one! • Take time to RE-PRIORITIZE where yes’s have slipped in that should have been no’s…or vice versa. • Take time to RE-COMMIT to surrendering to God’s will and to pursuing your passion. • Take time to REVIVE that flame that sometimes dims in the daily grind. • Go where you need to go this long weekend. Carve out 2-3 hours. Girl, get some rest! Your soul will thank you.
