Seriously - I am loving every minute of having Neaka home. Even if only for 3 short weeks. There was a time between the ages of 15 and 17 that I thought I wasn’t going to hold my together with her because she was so “hard headed” but I look at her now and explode with pride. Her resilience, determination, focus and drive completely astound me. No, she’s not perfect, is still learning and makes mistakes but boy, has she surprised John and me. All those times we thought she wasn’t listening to a word we said....she listened. Parents, current and future. Keep having those conversations with your kiddos - even as adults - they’re listening.
