This weekend I’d like to talk about “Button-Stance”, or the exact positioning of where the waist button “buttons” on your jacket (demonstrated with this shot from the days of the introduction of “The Parisian Gentleman” book). It took me years to learn to make sure that my button stance is located at a place where my naval could actually exist. This Cifonelli @lorenzocifonelli suit likely has the highest button stance/waist button placement possible in terms of tricking the eye into believing that this morphology is possible.
But now I have jackets that are buttoning wayyy too high, but I wear them anyway, knowing that I could have done better if I had known better.
So I hope this information helps some of you. I see a lot of guys getting their button stance placement practically on their chests.
