Japan + Taiwan beauty haul, Part II. My last haul post had all the masks, so this one's dedicated to everything else . I limited my non-sheetmask purchases to categories that I have a limited supply in, mainly cleansing oil and lip balms. I picked up a mini size of @muji cleansing oil to test out for fun, and also found a green tea cleansing oil at Hands Tailung (Tokyu Hands, but in Taiwan). I bought the DHC lip balm since it's been on my list for a while and it was so much cheaper in Japan, about $5.50 iirc. I was also looking for a lip product with SPF and decided on getting the Mentholatum honey lip balm with SPF 25. ️I wasn't originally going to purchase sunscreen, but 1) one of my sunscreen samples that was supposed to last me a few days burst in my luggage, 2) the rest of my family forgot sunscreen, and 3) I was also worried the Biore would pill when I reapplied, as it often does when I use it at home, but the finish and absorption seemed to work a LOT better on my skin in humid Asia than it does in San Francisco. Long story short, I picked up a couple spray sunscreens for reapplications (before realizing the Biore could work). I don't remember how much the Privacy one was, but I bought it at Tokyu Hands, and the Biore was on sale at a local pharmacy shop in Japan. In Taiwan, I also found the Biore Botanical Peony sunscreen and bought it because packaging... I really wanted to test out Anessa and Skin Aqua sunscreens, but couldn't justify adding more to my stash when I still have a couple other sunscreens at home. And lastly, I grabbed a couple of the Maiko creams on sale for a couple bucks each. It pains me/amuses me to admit it took me forever to try out the well-loved @dhcskincare Cleansing Oil, but I'm so glad I did! . I asked the BF to find me the DHC cleansing oil when he was in Japan last year and I fully expected him to find the regular packaging, but instead he came back with an Alice in Wonderland one! This is their small 2.3oz size that usually retails for $14 on their American website. When I was in Japan this year, I saw the same size in Ariel/Disney packaging and legit regret not picking it up cause I love the oil. . I typically prefer thinner cleansing oils because I hate the way thicker oils feel on my skin and I always think it takes more time to emulsify. Not the case for this one though! It's a medium-thick oil, but it emulsifies wonderfully, doesn't leave a film, and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry. I use about 1.5-2 pumps per cleanse and am about 50% done after 4-5 weeks of use. Since it's an olive oil-based cleanser, it also has an olive oil scent if that's a concern for anyone. . The large 6.7oz size retails for $28 on the US website. They're also sold for a little cheaper on Amazon, but it looks like people have had some issues with receiving fake product and bad reactions, so I'll probably wait for a sale on the DHC site to purchase.....in 2020 at this rate LOL.
