DJ Shadow, Entroducing.
The debut record from DJ Shadow was groundbreaking upon release as it was the first full-length album to be created entirely of samples, with even the Guinness Book Of Records recognising the achievement.
I love how the samples used are from such a diverse range of artists, which were sourced from records DJ Shadow had personally dug up and purchased from record stores. Everyone from Bjork to Metallica.
To me, this is one of those timeless albums that sounds as though it could have been released yesterday (even though it's 22 years old!). This is a benchmark record of the instrumental hip-hop genre and it's easy to see why.
It's always a pleasure giving this one a spin.
