I’m sad and embarrassed to admit... that I binged last night.
For the first time in years, I used food to numb my emotions.
It didn’t feel good. Or bad. Or intense or desperate. It didn’t feel like anything.
Until afterwards... then it felt like shit.
In the past, it happened often because
▪️I hated my body
▪️I distrusted food but I loved it at the same time
▪️I had starved myself all week
▪️I was losing control
▪️I felt disposable and alone
I’m disappointed in myself that it happened again last night.
I wasn’t expecting it and didn’t realize it until it was over.
Here’s where I know that I’ve grown, though...
⚡️It didn’t happen this time because I hate myself.⚡️
It happened because I wasn’t treating myself with enough LOVE... because I wasn’t TAKING CARE of myself in the way I have developed for my best energy.
Over the past few weeks
➖I haven’t been sleeping enough
➖I’ve been stressing about conflicts at work
➖I’ve said yes when I should have said no
➖I haven’t been present or enjoying things that I love
➖I’ve been putting too much pressure on myself.
➕I’ve been working really freaking hard, pursuing dreams that mean so much to me.
And I fell back into old behaviors that used to be my best coping mechanism.
But they don’t help me anymore.
I’ve grown out of them.
The work toward self-love never ends.
The work to balance out energies and to preserve our positive doesn’t stop.
It just changes form in different stages of life.
Not matter where you are, remember that the work is worth it.
There is nothing more important than taking care of yourself.
That includes eating right and working out. Also sleeping enough and managing stress. Saying “no” when you need to and keeping your eye on the prize, regardless of the opinions of others.
I’m heading into Monday with my own energy as my top priority.

Lately I’ve been mentally struggling with the concept of food and tracking macros. I have found that I have become some what obsessive over the foods I am eating and letting food consume my entire being. Don’t get me wrong, there is definitely a time and use for tracking macros, but for now I’m going to take a break and be kind to myself. My next big goal is to be forgiving and stay focused on consuming foods that make me feel good and be mindful of my choices. Rather than mentally punishing myself if I have a sweet treat or enjoying something that I am looking forward to. I am trying to stay away from the scales and focus on how I am feeling and how I am feeling when training, rather than letting a number determine how I feel about myself. I love not having any restrictions when it comes to my diet. Like anyone, certain things will make me feel yucky, and not so good. Some of it is worth it, other things are not.
