I’ve spritzed a masterpiece tonight. Lavish in a word, Coromandel opens heavy with patchouli, which at first appears sharp, but mellows in a manner best described as creamy before incense, benzoin and frankincense make themselves known to the nose. Soon, luxurious vanilla bean, delicate rose, and velvety jasmine present themselves as the composition becomes moreish with the creamy, dusty note of white chocolate. Orange and neroli sit in the shadows to create interest with their subtle bitterness as musk and woods lend body and depth. I have seen the Chinese lacquered screens in Coco’s apartment that inspired Coromandel – the opulence of my Eau de Toilette captures them perfectly.
