I hope this movie will be good because there a lot of actors I love and, most of all, I’m looking forward to seeing Benedict star with ANDREW BLOODY SCOTT again ♥️ [and Colin my love and Richard Madden aaAAAH] Anyway, the director is a goon one, so the movie is promising it should be released on Christmas 2019 and then in January 2020 worldwide. - R. #1917 #NEWbenedictcumberbatch #AndrewScott #Sherlockactors

So Richard will be working with Colin Firth and Mark Strong in this new war movie titled "1917", directed and written by Sam Mendes (James Bond's movies Skyfall and Spectre) and produced by Steven Spielberg (you surely know him) They start filming this April and the movie will be out on 25 December 2019. In the meanwhile I do hope to see Taron joining this project somehow because it seems a very big and special one with an exceptional cast and Taron deserves to work again with his talented friends, although I'm afraid to see him playing a soldier again (after Testament of Youth) In the picture the golden trio from Kingsman: Colin Firth, Taron Egerton and Mark Strong #madderton #maddertonteam #taronegerton #colinfirth #markstrong #kingsman #kingsmanthesecretservice #kingsmanthegoldencircle #eggsy #galahad #merlin #richardmadden #1917 #1917movie #sammendes #stevenspielberg #warmovie

WWII Wheelgun Wednesday. Revolvers of the Allies: Nagant 1895, S&W 1917, Enfield No.2 Mki* The Nagant is chambered in the gas-sealing 7.62r and loads through a gate in the captive cylinder. (I'm assuming people just poked out spent cartridges with the cleaning rod rather than dick around with the integral extractor). The S&W uses .45acp with moonclips loading in the traditional style. The Enfield is chambered in 38/200 / 38S&W and has an auto-eject feature in the breaktop action. #wwii #ww2 #wwi #ww1 #wheelgun #smithandwesson #nagant #enfield #45acp #38special #762x38r #milsurp #sidearm #revolver #antique #1895 #1917 #1938 #indianajones

If you ignore my atrocious cropping once again, that would be great. So this is on helmets of world war one. The thing is when someone says a world war one helmet the image that springs to mind is the stalhelm. Which is fair enough; it is widely photographed. But the post today is not on the stalhelm. However I will pose a question to my readers. That is,how strong is the relationship,if there is any, between the Sallet of the 1400s and the Stalhelm? ▪▪▪ Today we are going to do the Brodie helm and the Adrian helmet. The Portuguese one is quite weird and honestly I just don't like it. So therefore it is not something that I will write about. ▪▪▪ The Adrian helmet. French origins, and it had a mass of 765 grams. The steel was mild, thus direct bullet impact was not very healthy at all. However it gave great protection against shrapnel, and debris. There was a period where they had a cloth covering too, an attempt to minimise reflection of sunlight. What actually happened was that it proved detrimental as the cloth could just help infections more as it could be carried into the head, dirty mixed with debris. Not such a good idea after all. The Germans had done clothing with the Pickelhaube spike. But no one shoots at the spike I assume. Millions had been made and to be fair, it did its job. ▪▪▪ The Brodie helmet. A patent presented in 1915 August had resulted in this helmet being manufactured. It was made of steel. It resembled the kettle hat, another type of helmet used in the medieval period. When they were first being produced there was the first type called Type A. This one was phased out after a few weeks. Because the construction was of mild steel. Type B was made of steel which was harder so more durable. This was deemed more worthy. #Ww1#worldwarone#Worldwar1#England#Prussia#Stalhelm#France#wwi#Ypres#Somme#Verdun#Arras#1914#1916#1915#1917#1918#militaryhistory#helmets
