2019 / 1871 I really enjoy reproducing fashion plates - there’s a bit of wiggle room since the proportions are so exaggerated, and you have to solve problems and make up what you can’t see. It took me about five weeks to make this (not counting undergarments, which I’d made earlier), and about 85 hours of work. I was a lot more careful and historical with construction and fitting than I have been previously (though it’s not 100% accurate - I admit to a lot of serging!) and I hope that it shows. Most of the hours in this were due to handwork: stitching trim, basting for flatlining, etc. It was a good time!
