Whether it is caused by stress, diet, genetics- we can all agree that blemishes tend to pop up at the worst possible moments. Their timing is impeccable! But there are ways to stay on top of things and minimize breakouts from 3 angles: physical, nutritional and emotional. June is #acneawarenessmonth & in collaboration with @herocosmetics + @joinpalm I received a wellness kit chock-full of self care goodies to minimize these breakouts. @herocosmetics included a box of their Mighty Patch Invisible + hydrocolloid patch that is barely noticeable and helps to battle blemishes without drying out your skin. From a physical standpoint of wellness, @meetbenni provided me with a packet of “Stamina” which is a supplemental powder that helps keep your energy up, and Keeko included their Morning Mint Oil which helps keep your breath fresh and your immune system boosted. ⚡️ @wayofwillshop included an essential oil rollerball to reduce stress & anxiety (two things that can cause hormonal fluctuations and trigger breakouts!) And to help boost my overall wellness? Hydration is key. The more hydrated you are, the better your skin and body will look and feel. @liquidiv came in clutch and threw in a packet of their non-GMO electrolyte drink mix, which is perfect since I’ve been frequenting the gym lately! ✨ All in all, this wellness campaign has me rather inspired to stay on top of my physical, nutritional and emotional health, and I really encourage you all to do the same! #collab #selfcaresummer

June is Acne Awareness Month. And this month @herocosmetics has launched a campaign to educate on how to fight acne in a balanced way. I am super behind this as all of us have most likely joined the fight against acne at some point in our lives. In collaboration with @joinpalm I received the Mighty Patch Invisible+ for an access fee. I was really excited to try these as I’ve seen such great reviews all over Instagram. This couldn’t have come at a better time as a product I am currently testing has brought acne back into my life . The Mighty Patches are made up of hydrocolloid stickers that suck up pus while protecting blemishes for faster healing. The box came with two different sizes, which was great for the varying size of zits on my face. They claim to have better adhesion and absorption (50% higher absorption power than cosrx) than other similar products on the market. I wanted to compare this to other products I use for fighting acne (many drying lotions). I have not yet tried out the @fourthraybeauty or @sugarrush by @tartecosmetics ones yet. Also finished @katesomervilleskincare not pictured here. I loved the fact that both the hero and cosrx patches were hard to detect, convenient for travel and running errands, more sanitary than other solutions, and used less harsh ingredients. I also feel like this would be an amazing option for those with sensitive skin. However after a week of use for both products, I didn’t see much of a change in my whiteheads. Also every time I put them on, where I was holding the sticker would be pinched so it was always a bit noticeable on me - but this is probably user error. After some time, I had to bring in my @boscia Charcoal Spot Corrector in, which has started to help reduce my blemishes. In comparison to other drying lotions, I would say the Boscia is on par with @mariobadescu - however the most effective for me was EradiKate by Kate Somerville. The @sheamoisture one didn’t deliver as much for me either. I love using the @thebodyshop Tea Tree Oil during the day in conjunction with a drying lotion at night to help fight my zits. I feel like acne is a personal fight though. (Continued in comments)
