Still on the topic of visual illustration on African prints and what they mean. I found a catalogue published in an article in 1970s which I am being educated by after reading so much.
I also found a drawing linked to a renowned Nigerian Artist who is an Adire fabric ambassador #chiefnikedaviesokundaye from an interview she granted a magazine.
This is particularly close to my heart as I stock lots of Adire fabric. Having read these am pretty pleased with the illustrations on the fabric we sell.
Symbolism on fabrics is not a topic that can be exhausted here. This is just a contribution piece so i would be moving on to other questions.
