She started work at British Home Stores (BHS) when she left school and stayed there all of her working life working her way up over the years until she retired in 1995. She never married and rarely went on holiday, her work was her main focus and she loved it. Bill Harwood - charcoal, graphite, ink and carbon on paper - 59.4 cm x 84.1 cm (A1) Bill was born in 1934 and married a German lady that he met when he was in the Army in Germany. He spent 22 years in the Army and was a champion boxer for 18 years and revered by his colleagues winning 15 titles. He visited many places whilst he was in the military and did two tours of duty in Northern Ireland. Mona Kennell- graphite on hand made paper - approximately A4 in size 21cm x 30cm I consciously didn't want to make too many aesthetic links with Leonardo because that would have felt a bit forced and pointless really as I didn't want it to be an imitation exhibition so right from the outset I wanted it to remain my style of working. I was, however interested in the idea of paper making as all of Da Vinci's would have been hand made so during the summer I made lots of hand made/ home made paper in deckles which I also put together. It was a beautifully primitive process which I thoroughly enjoyed.
