Ok, so we are under a Heat Advisory here in Texas so on my way to my hill repeat run I thought to myself >>> are you crazy? I was going to do it regardless because well I am a little crazy. I ran up most the hills, walked when I needed too and had a freaking great time doing it! Hanging with my @alamo180 girls was awesome! It could’ve really sucked if I let my mind play tricks on me... but noooooo we have an Ironman to train for! Never let that evil voice win!! •*

Transition Practice | A part of triathlon that many overlook.

In my @alamo180 Rookie to Race program, we cover how to set up and execute the transition.

If you're new to the sport, practice it so you know how to best set up your station and how to move through T1 (swim to bike) and T2 (bike to run). If you're not new to the sport, practice a few times before race day. Make any tweaks so you can shave seconds, or even minutes, off your transition times.

I've seen people lose podium spots because they spent too long in transition. I've seen people waste so much time during Half and Full Ironman transitions and then get nervous about time cut-offs.

Last workout before my next triathlon race. @velvet210 was kind enough to join me for a nice run through the park. I felt really REALLY good on the run today. To help with turnover, I kept telling myself “fast feet, light feet”. No clue if it actually works, but it keeps me focused on my run form. Took it easy heading out, but turned it loose coming back downhill. My cadence almost averaged 180spm. Big improvement! Compared to 2017, I’m running 4:00min/mi faster than my old, out of shape self. Consistency is key! Super pumped to give it my best shot on race day this Sunday. Marathon training while spending quality time with my family.
Modified my run by splitting it into laps around the neighborhood lake alternating with hubby so kiddo could ride along the course motivating us to keep going.
Thankful for the gorgeous weather & my active family! My son really loves being outside.
