I really like the contrast between the yellow and black facade bricks! Notice that the courtyard side of the building is completely bright green, quite a bold move for Finnish architecture! ✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Trivia: Jätkäsaari is a former harbour area, which is being converted as a completely new district of Helsinki! There are loads of fancy and playful facades there! I took only a small walk there the. The tower of the Palais de Justice is one of the more prominent (but less extravagant) architectural structures in the heart of Paris. This is a closer crop of an earlier post. Do you prefer this or the earlier, wider view?

In 1953 the building was acquired by Agronomiliitto and it is now known as Agronomy House. The apartments have since been transformed to office spaces but a lot of the original interiors remain inside! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I took this during #instawalkjugend photowalk which we organized together with the architecture museum @mfa_arkkitehtuurimuseo ! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Next photowalks will be organized in August and September as well! The walks start from the museum where a representative from museum will introduce us to jugendstil architecture and its history and I will tell a bit about photography as I know it the best! One advantage of having a longer lens is that you can spot and also reach neat little details that might be overlooked otherwise! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Trivia: Grahn, Hedman and Wasastjerna was a productive Finnish architecture company, which worked from 1892 to 1905. You can see them under my Munkkiniemi tag #HFmunkkiniemi ! Trivia: Did you know that Munkkiniemi's pension house was the one of the last projects by architect Eliel Saarinen in Finland. The pension house and the row houses (beauties too!) built on the same street (Hollantilaisentie) were also the only tangible assignments of Saarinen following the great city plan of Munkkiniemi-Haaga, which he formed in 1915. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The modern pension building, representative of the Central European Jugendclassism, was able to operate in its original occupation for only a few years until it was redeemed to bankruptcy and converted into a Cadet School. As a Cadet school, it worked until 1940, after which it was made the Air Force Headquarters. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After this period it worked as a educational building and it was used as offices and conventional purposes. Редкий случай,никогда вместо того, что бы сказать про прекрасные наличники нечто "в позабытой деревне, адреса не знаю, никому не нужен, разрушается", могу назвать точный адрес - город Киржач, Гагарина, 34. Я-то просто побежала красивый дом заснять, а это оказывается мини-музей русского наличниками и образец редкой аргуновской резьбы. Сам домик построен в самом начале века и там жил местный аптекарь. I love being next to familiar structures and getting these unfamiliar angles of parts of them. This one is of one of the side wings of the former Paris Opera House, now the home of the ballet. We splurged on a standing ticket and I got to see the breathtaking Chagall ceiling inside.
