I've learned so much about myself and my #eczema this past week that it's hard to contain myself . . . I've been going through an uncomfortable flare that I thought was due to all of the traveling, outside eating, and drinking alcohol I was engaging in. After doing some deep inner work on myself, I realized I was incorrect. Of course the traveling, eating, and alcohol may have played a PART in the flare-up, but it definitely was not the CAUSE of it. The cause was something deeper. . . . I came to an awareness that I was holding in resentment towards myself and someone very close to me. This was causing me distress and frustration at the most minute level. But I only knew this AFTER journaling and writing a letter to my eczema. Then I cried about it... a lot. I gave myself permission to just FEEL the emotions that were present so that I could let them go with flow and ease. And let me tell you! AS SOON as I did that, there was a shift in my body. My skin began flaking (sign of healing), little to no itchiness, discoloration began leaving and my original skin color began re-appearing. . . . I AM HEALING. I always was. AND through this awareness, I catapulted its process. I was able to terminate the Source of my flare at the deepest level to create SUSTAINABLE healing, not just temporary relief. So I invite you to check with yourself today. Is there an emotion you're bottling up? That's causing you to feel some type of tension. That’s the true Source of your dis-ease or illness. Feel it. Let it go. & Heal. Happy Awakening Fam

Sometimes, only fellow-eczema sufferers fully understand what you are going through on a day-to-day basis. As a disclaimer, if someone says something offensive to you regarding your eczema, try not to get mad or upset right away but use it as an opportunity to educate them and help them better understand this disease that affects as much as 10% of the population. Hello Parents/parents to be.. Welcome to #ParentHood101 When I had Iroma, after like a week I noticed he had some patches on his face. They looked reddish also. Scary. I went to see his Paed who was explained that he had eczema. In my thoughts it sounded dangerous In a split second I imagined the worst. She explained to me that the oil/soap I used aggravated the condition. This brings me to the topic for today (That’s @princeiroma in the pic) ECZEMA Eczema also referred to as Atopic dermatitis can show up as red, crusty patches on your baby's skin, often during their first few months. It’s common and very treatable. Many infants outgrow it. Atopic dermatitis usually develops in early childhood and is more common in people who have a family history of the condition Babies can get the condition just about anywhere on their body. Most often, it affects their cheeks and the joints of their arms and legs. It’s easy to confuse baby eczema (also called infant eczema or atopic dermatitis) with cradle cap. But there are some key differences. Cradle cap is much less red and scaly. It generally clears up by 8 months and usually appears on the scalp, sides of the nose, eyelids and eyebrows, and behind the ears. CAUSES It can run in families. If a parent has eczema, a baby is a lot more likely to get it, too. Problems in the skin barrier, allowing moisture out and germs in, could also be a cause. Eczema happens when the body makes too few fatty cells called ceramides. If you don’t have enough of them, your skin will lose water and become very dry. Does Eczema go by itself you may ask? It often does. Most children outgrow it before they start school. It’s not common, but some kids will have eczema into adulthood. They Might be times or even years without the symptoms. But they may still tend to have dry skin. SYMPTOMS The main symptom is a rash that typically appears on the arms and behind the knees, but can also appear anywhere. Also super dry skin/itchy/rough and reddish SWIPE LEFT>>>>>>>>> #Parenthood101 #InfantEczema #atopicdermatitis @katarinacosmeticcollection is the handle for the Shea butter that I use specifically for Iroma’s eczema.
