Dinner party dreams! I so did host my first dinner party, finally. The standard for future parties is high after Holly of @flowerqueen_co pimped out my entire dining room with her floral styling skills . I'm talking full tablescape, decorated cake, and mantlepiece. I really should have invited the actual HRH. Instead my humble friends were treated to @flowerqueen_co magnificent styling and my average cooking skills. (Ok, I only made the salad but whatevs!). Ok, so I’ll admit that I’m at risk of becoming that crazy lady with 17 prams, but this one is amazing! I had a single pram, upgraded to a double, added the toddler step, got a jogging/bike trailer pram, got the incredible trolley style one and now this little beauty, Otto, from @edwardsandcobaby. The girls are happy to walk now 99% of the time, and honestly, they are getting too big anyway! Harry however, wants to be independent and walk, but sometimes it’s still beyond him if it’s late in the day or I’m trying to run a bunch of errands (or in a shop where I just need him physically contained for 10 minutes!) then I end up carrying him or trying to hold onto him plus a bunch of stuff I bought and it’s too much. I actually miss the days of prams sometimes because that storage is actually pretty convenient , and that’s where this little beauty comes in. I’ve been tempted to list the others on gumtree and buy a Kmart stroller but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. For those times when I need something but not enough to take up heaps of room in the boot and be lugging around something big and heavy for pit stops here and there I was still holding on, and I was offered one of these beautiful strollers to try, which seemed like a match made in heaven. It weighs less than 7kgs, folds up small enough to take on a plane as carry on luggage and suits a newborn through to a toddler weighing 20kgs with no seperate attachments! I heart Ballarat! I’m a born and raised Ballaratarian. I moved away for a few years here and there but missed it terribly and moved back home. Today was a different dynamic with the middle child at kinder while the eldest wasn’t, and honestly, she loved it! I keep telling her ‘but I’m not ready for that!’ each time she tells me she is getting to be so big, and she told me tonight that she is already ready to go to school. When I explained she would have to go every day like daddy goes to work she wasn’t impressed, because then she’ll have no time to play with me?! I explained that she will have so many fun things to learn so she needs to go that often. She figured maybe she could handle it for ‘one or two years’ and when I explained that she will need to go to school for 13 years she was horrified now I think we are on the same page #shesnotreadyeither The school age debate reignites each year at this time, and because the girls are February babies I’m choosing to keep them home for the extra year and start school at 5 turning 6. I understand each child is different and you need to make your own choice for yours, but this was what was right for our kids.
