I love the 3M polishing papers from @riogrande - no polishing machine or tumbler required - at just over $1 a sheet it’s a pretty cheap hand job Sand to 1000 grit sandpaper, followed by 1200, 4000, 6000 and 8000 grit polishing paper for a mirror finish. Remember to sand on a flat surface and change direction with each grit. Do not move onto another grit until your current grit has removed all the marks left by the previous grit.

Having trouble with using solder pick?
When flux is cold it’s hard like glass......
What it’s hot it’s liquid like water.......
When it’s in-between it’s like treacle, treacle is yummy and STICKY (don’t eat the flux ok)
What this means is when you want to pick up the solder you need the flux on your pick to be like treacle - sticky, not to hot and not too cold, but just right! When you want to place the solder on a join, you need to heat the pick while you’re placing the solder so the flux becomes liquid and easily releases the solder.
