I'm so incredibly proud of @shebrown81 for being this year's @bbbsgreaterdal Big Black Tie Ball chair alongside her husband @81timbrown. I truly love her heart and her passion to give back and help others. This was an amazing evening full of inspiration and beautiful stories of children overcoming adversity through mentoring relationships. My favorite was hearing from a “little” who surprised his “big” on stage... he was the first in his family to graduate high school and had recently graduated from Harvard! He was able to celebrate just how far he had come in life simply because someone believed in him and encouraged him along the way. My Little Dude had a rough game/loss last night. His team gave up almost a 15 point lead and everyone completely lost their focus/momentum. He blamed himself because the guy he was guarding made the tie-ing shot. • No one likes to lose. But it’s an amazing learning opportunity how to keep your head about you, not get frustrated with that particular moment and focus on the overall goal. I reminded him that they’re still going to playoffs this weekend and asked what he learned from this game that he can use for the next one. • Stay focused. Stay determined.
