Mirror, mirror on the wall, who has the most sealed RVH of them all? We use a mirror to help our goalies find their holes and adjust them instantly. (It is a mirror like fabric on a wooden frame, not a conventional mirror for easier and safer handling on the ice.) If you don’t have access to a mirror you can use the reflection off the boards if your rink allows it.

Knowing exactly where your posts are is critical. Stopping on your post is especially important when getting into a reverse position but is also useful when you have to quickly get squared up for a play closer to the net. Knowing exactly where to hit the post will prevent you from rotating out, over sliding or sliding into the net. In this sequence we practice finding the post and then sliding back into a set position. This drill helps your spatial awareness around your posts and also works on your explosiveness getting out from the post position
