The Alchemist Heady Topper DIPA...9.6/10...8% ABV CHEEZIN HARD because I finally got to try the beer that got me into craft beer!!! Years ago I watched a special on this brewery and saw people waiting in lines for hours for this beer, and I wondered why the hell anyone would do that!? Well, now I get it! This is by far, one of, if not the BEST beers I’ve ever had. I love a good IPA and this is easy to drink, hoppy as heck, with an odd but pleasant bitterness. There are grassy notes, earthy notes, fruity notes, dank notes, saucy notes, all the notes you want are in this beer! There’s a strong juicy flavor with the slight backbone of malt. All together, if you’ve never had this beer DO IT ASAP!

@moonrakerbrewing Hazy Duz It 2x India Pale Ale. 8.5% With Citra, Mosaic and Amarillo hops.
—
Another banger from @moonrakerbrewing. Light gold in the glass, very good carbonation with a full finger of bead-like tiny bubbles huddling on top of the goodness below. It’s not completely hazy, but actually somewhere in between a clear beer and a hazy (although the picture leads you to believe it’s pretty hazy). The nose is all melon, berries and citrus and it smells delicious. In the mouth, it’s on the thinner side and very slick on the tongue. Floral flavors are pretty strong along with berries, limes, passion fruit, melon and a hint of grapefruit. It finishes nice and bitter with a solid hop bite, but I wish it had more body. I’ve seen some reviews that say this is boozy or dominated by booze, but that is simply not the case. At 8.5%, it is almost booze free in taste. There is some bitterness on the backend and lingering hop bite that may be being confused for alcohol presence, but this is definitely an easy drinker here. @moonrakerbrewing can keep making them and I’ll keep drinking them. Another very good one here.

@unsungbrewing @8bitbrewingcompany Double Jump Hazy Double IPA. 8.5% With Enigma, Citra, Simcoe and African Queen hops.

When it rains it pours! Went from not having anything by @8bitbrewingcompany to having 3 beers from them within a few weeks. @unsungbrewing has been killing it with their Nebuloid Series hazies (this isn’t one of them) so this should be a great collaboration. Let’s see what we’ve got. Pop the top and this beer has TONS of carbonation. So much so that it comes spilling out of the can right away. Speaking of fills, this can is filled right up to the top...no low fills here. A nice opaque hazy yellow color into the glass with a full two and a half fingers of thick, dense foamy head. As you wait for the head to recede a bit, the nose is full of bitter citrus, raspberries, apricots and hops. The dry hopping and double dry hopping really worked here as the beer smells delicious. Super soft and pillowy in the mouth, Double Jump is medium to full bodied and velvety smooth. The mouthfeel is nailed here. Big flavors of cantaloupe, iced tea, lemon grass, orange rind, raspberries, mangos and apricots please the palate, ending with a touch of pine on the finish. The 8.5% ABV is hidden in the shadows, it’s super hoppy and so easy drinking. It’s sweet, juicy, bitter, tropical and citrusy all in one and it covers all the bases. A big round of applause to both @8bitbrewingcompany and @unsungbrewing here as this is very well done.

@monkishbrewing Unfold The Scroll Triple Dry Hopped Double India Pale Ale. 8.3% With Citra hops.
—
#monkishmonday gets going with a Triple Dry Hopped DIPA using exclusively Citra hops and if you like your beers hoppy, give this one a go. This one is like a hop amusement park with lots of hops here... hop bite, hop burn, hop love. It pours a hazy, murky pale yellow with basically zero head and, not surprisingly, zero lacing. The nose has notes of citrus and, you guessed it, hops. Looks and smells just like a hopped up orange juice. Light to medium body in the mouth, but more towards the light side, Unfold The Scroll has some great flavors. Oranges, limes, grapefruit, mangos, light apple and a hint of strawberries hiding in the background. It’s citrusy, zesty, bitter and tropical with no booze whatsoever and it’s a total hop bomb. In my opinion, it would have been better with a little more body and more carbonation, but it’s a very solid Monkish beer. Truthfully, you could line up a great number of Monkish beers next to one another and they basically all taste quite similar, but if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. Thanks to my man @mr.reebs for the opportunity here.
