An 8.5% double dry hopped DIPA from @cloudwaterbrew and @otherhalfnyc - it was drinkable, but the hop burn/bitterness was just too intense to make this Orange Liquid anything more than “Likeable” . Deya Brewing Co, Watching The Whites Of Your Eyes Turn Red - DIPA | 8% . All the hallmarks of a quality Deya brew right here - meaning it's good and get your hands on one if you can. Sweeter than other Deya doubles which detracted for me but no biggie. Haze, Microphone and Midnight Hero still my top 3 . 4.35 / 5

I usually have 2 beers on a Friday night and last night I knew exactly what they would be: . Left: @otherhalfnyc Double Simcoe Daydream, DDH Imperial Oat Cream IPA, 8.5% ABV. . Right: @pressuredropbrw X @deyabrewery Two Weeks In Florida, Cryo DDH DIPA, 8.5% ABV. . I hadn't planned on doing a comparison, but after I had both of them, it was hard not to. This was mostly after listening to the @triplehopped podcast and a conversation with @willbeeringitall earlier in the day. Here are my notes from both beers: . OH Double Simcoe Daydream: Slight fizz, smooth and pillowy (even with the fizz). Slightly oily. Simcoe is prevalent. Onion. Alcohol burn. Mango, pineapple, citrus peel bitterness. Onion is still happening. Good but too much fizz and onion for me. Should have waited. . PD X Deya, Two Weeks In Florida: Pineapple, papaya, melon, mango. Dankish. Smooth and pillowy. Absolutely amazing. Seriously good. No really, this is fantastic. Must check DMs tomorrow, tipsy. I know I've been gushing about this to people tonight. May need to apologise for being over enthusiastic. . So which did I prefer? You guessed it! Hands down PD X Deya.
