It’s that magical time of year when woodland floors become carpets of purple and my feed can finally have some colour as always our photos were taken from the path and no bluebells were harmed (standing on them means they won’t grow back, so make sure you stick to the path if you visit).

Now...remember the lovely cottages from yesterday....Well, let's keep in the same county of Dorset for this gorgeous shot of these wild garlic and bluebell woods, captured by @matt_pinner I love a good forest, me. Especially in a place like Dorset with its incredible ancient landscape. And what history! In the Iron Age (800 BC-43 AD) the Celtic tribe the Durotriges, dominated Dorset at this time and during this period they built over 27 hill forts. Maiden Castle is one of the best examples of Durotriges hill forts which can be found just outside Dorchester. Their reign in Dorset was only finally brought to an end by the might of Rome which conquered Britain from 43 AD. When I visit forests like this, I always sense those who came before me. The past history, the footsteps of countless tribes through the ages as I crunch through the bracken. Truly magical. Plus my parents used to leave me in the woods when I was a child but I always found my way home. Have a lovely Tuesday! I am utterly convinced that a bluebell wood in bloom is one of the most beautiful places you can possibly be. A sea of colour stretches out in all directions around you as the birds sing above you. It’s heaven on Earth. But here’s the thing about bluebell woods, they’re devilishly tricky to capture through a lens. They are 1000% more spectacular and heartbreakingly beautiful in real life. ....more progress on the bluebell wood fire surround....this is me removing the large tile to reveal the plaster mould I have just made..... I love the raised pattern of the bluebells and cow parsley in the plaster!! There are a few bubbles but nothing that cannot be remedied when making another tile!!
