A yellow AND a blue?! Don’t mind if I do. I love Century: Golem edition to absolute pieces. It’s just quick & satisfying. This game is also a stunner - the artwork for the golems is so funny & clever. My favourites have to be the anchor, the grape squisher & the guard dog! Какие-то из них селятся в лесу, другие на лугах, некоторые предпочитают жить в водоёмах, часть птиц и вовсе могут жить где угодно, лишь бы было пропитание. ⠀ Получение исследовательских бонусов реализовано через выкладывание карт на различные зоны личного планшета каждого игрока. Например, если вы сыграли карту птички в луговую зону, то не будет большой проблемой набрать несколько яиц из её гнезда. Лесные массивы изобилуют пищей и позволяют добывать пропитание. А в водоёмах птицы часто живут бок о бок, поэтому наблюдая за одним гнездом, можно наткнуться на других птичек, получив себе на руку новые карты. It’s fun, easy to learn, easy to teach and has cool marbles to boot. I knew I wanted it in our collection after the first time it hit the table during game night at my #flgs. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ : ⁣ ⁣ • The game has clear and consistent iconography, which makes organizing the cards in your engine easy. ⁣ • Once you get a good engine going the game feels very rewarding. If you build it well you can do multiple actions in one turn while getting multiple VP points each round.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ :⁣ • Sometimes all of the cards or marbles that are available are terrible, and it feels like it takes forever to get new ones out. ⁣This is especially true in a 2P game. • A big con is when your opponent gets all the cards they need that you also want and they build a powerful engine, which racks up tons of points and leaves you playing catch-up for the rest of the game. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Overall I enjoy Gizmos a lot and like playing in before or after a heavier game, or as a stand-alone on a weeknight. Had the chance to play Res Arcana by Tom Lehman. ‍♀️ Res Arcana sees you take the role of a mage in your aim to conquer places of power to achieve victory over your opponents. You will find yourself aided by creatures, equipment and powerful spells. The game uses a few of my favourite mechanisms; deck building, card drafting and variable player power. What I really like here, other than the cool almost retro fantasy art, is that your deck of cards is very small. You only have about 10 cards that you draft, this gives you a very interesting decision as to when to play each card or when to use the card to recycle and generate resources. I really like simple but poignant decisions in games, it is very satisfying to see them work out. I’m looking forward to a few more games of this one.
