Impromptu meetup at @silkysmoothlounge with my buddy @slugpuke to play three excellent #boardgames. We brought our copies of Pipeline, The Castles of Burgundy, and Targi, but this ice cream shop/board game cafe has a solid collection of games (everything from Jenga to Twilight Struggle) and outstanding desserts. This was my second visit here and they've made some changes that greatly improved my experience. First, they turned down the music, which was at an excruciating level when they first opened the business. Second, they re-did their pricing structure for game play, going from $5 weekdays/$7 weekends (not to mention a ridiculous $15 weekend reservation fee) to the much friendlier "free unlimited gaming with purchase." It's still too loud for my tastes (the combination of the room's acoustics and the commercial grade blenders is deafening at times) and the chairs aren't conducive to multiple hours of game play, but the service is always friendly, the freshly made bubble waffles are always delicious, and there's nothing better than playing board games with your friends. Our last game of the day at @boardbeanscafe was Hamsterrolle. I managed to win by placing all of my pieces. @van_uber ended up knocking some pieces off on his turn so he had more pieces left to place. Kingdom Run and cake a fun little game after playing Pandemic Rising Tide. Saturday games with @kelimuasya and my dad. Second, Scythe. I cannot find one single game that will beat #scytheboardgame in my list of favourites. This was a peaceful game, not fight or aggression. Keli beat us with extreme elegance. One objective, full tracks of power and prestige, four constructions, eight workers out, and four enlisted units. My dad was left with only three stars places and I had four. The chicken rassa was just perfect it had good amount of vatan to it. The chicken was cooked along the rassa so it was infused with good stock flavour. The Chicken Sukka was made from dry masala which mainly had some onions and typical Indian spices.
