Yesterday I turned 3️⃣6️⃣ and I was remembering all the things I’ve worked on in the past 19 years, here we go: — 2000: HTML my first site was a Pokemon site, building by searching “how to build web pages” and keep building small webpages for myself. — 2002 - 2007: First paid job while in school getting my graphic design degree. Lots of UI design in photoshop, tons of static html and css sites and my first contact with CMS and eCommenrce: Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, OsCommerce, Magento, super into theming cms. — 2007 - 2010: Tons of DotCMS projects, several universities around the US, a few ecommerce and more. Freelance Wordpress stage and lot more deep into UX. — 2010: MOVE TO COSTA RICA — 2010 - 2013: More DotCMS work, more advanced JavaScript work, jQuery!!! a lot of jQuery, Dojo and my first steps into DotCMS R&D building features for the product. — 2013 - 2016: Work in more #javascript frameworks and mobile development, react, titanium. — 2016 - 2019: Everything: Angular, React, Node, Server Side Rendering, Custom Elements, management, team leadership. — It’s being a long run but I can wait for what’s to come! WHAT A WEEK. Beware of 404 error. Write exceptions cases. ALWAYS. While I was running a script I wrote to download images, I found a few bugs. I didn’t anticipate 404 or 300 error and completely skipped the part to manage exceptions. Now I’ll be adding code to all the exceptions I can find and make sure every error and bug is carried out without breaking the script. Tip: always think of all the possible pitfalls for every function you write. Never get carried away by just adding features. Stop. Test. Re test. Anyways lesson learned!
