Today is #NationalCancerSurvivorsDay and I’ve got a lot of thoughts and all the feels. Survivorship is a wild ride and cancer still drives so many decisions, thoughts, and experiences, both positive and difficult. . So I’ll just say that I’m grateful for the research being done, for people pushing the boundaries on clinical trials and fundraising. For every damn step we take forward for every type of cancer. For the movements underway, and the awareness levels rising. We can’t afford to rest in this fight for solutions. And our health cannot be taken for granted. Keep going. And send love to the survivors in your life. . For all those still fighting, and for those who are gone, I am with you today, and always. . As I look back at treatment, I thought I’d share one of the crazier parts of chemo: cold capping. Behind the scenes of the cap swap that we did every 20 mins for 9 hours on chemo days. That’s -40 degrees and cold AF. My head was numb, cheeks puffy from steroids, and body beyond exhausted. Spoiler: it worked, and I kept about 80% of my hair. Little victory in the journey. And today, almost two years as a survivor, I’m just GRATEFUL as hell to be here.

Sunday Magic Someone is doing magic with his ELISA plate ‍♂️‍ What is ELISA: ELISA Is an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. It is employed to detect the presence of a ligand in a liquid sample using antibodies raised against the protein of interest. We have developed several ELISAs in our laboratory. ‍ You need specific type of plate, primary antibody that you coat on plate, block solution, another HRP linked antibody against protein of interest, substrate and stop solution. It need optimization process but once the concentration of antibodies are identified the process is very reproducible.
