This guy is one of my new favorites: Domaine Seguela’s 2010 “Planete” Carignan, Syrah blend from the Roussillon region of Southern France. Seguela, whose winemaking family goes back seven generations, has raised the bar and made it their goal to elevate the reputation of the Roussillon, which has been written off by some as a bulk producing region. Don’t write off this incredible, complex wine from a solid, meticulous producer! Dark black fruits, coffee, clove, eucalyptus, licorice, and tar are just some of the notes that make this wine so fascinating to smell and a pleasure to drink. It almost has a fernet-y/amaro-y quality to it as it evolves in the glass. I love it when these gems fall into my path!

Le Sillon by @masonesime / Faugères AC 2017 / 14.5%abv / 70% Grenache + 10% Carignan + 10% Syrah + 10% Mourvèdre / Organic wine . 50-year-old vines are grown on 12ha of poor schist soils at 330-360m above sea level, yielding around 25hl/ha. Grapes have been harvested by hand, sorted and destemmed before fermentation at controlled temperatures. The must has been aged in vats. . ️ Deep purple colour . Well-defined aromas of medium intensity with ripe red fruit (strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant, cranberry), fresh black fruit (blueberry, black cherry), dried fruit (jammy blueberry), flowers (rose, violet), spice (liquorice, white pepper), herbal notes (medicinal, mint) and a touch of rubber . Well-balanced dry wine with medium+ acidity, high ripe tannins, high alcohol, full body and a medium+ finish Flavours of medium+ intensity with raspberry, redcurrant, cranberry, jammy blueberry, violet, liquorice, mint and rubber . ✍ A very good wine, fresh, harmonious & powerful ️ To serve at 16-17°C To drink now or save until 2024 . Petit coup de cœur pour ce corbière rouge château les palais vous connaissez ? Ce domaine demeure au sein d’un ancien couvent qui lui confère un charme fabuleux.. . Cépages rouges : #Carignan (55%), #Cinsault (2%), #Grenache (24%), #Mourvèdre (2%), #syrah (17%) . La robe de ce corbière rouge est intense, rouge foncé rubis . Le nez décline les fruits, avec des notes de cassis et de mûre, les épices️, le poivre et la réglisse ne tardent pas à apparaître en fin de bouche. La garrigue s'exprime par des essences de thym et de romarin. . La bouche est puissante et charpenté️‍♀️. Elle est chaleureuse avec des tanins solides, il y a une bonne acidité ce qui équilibre le vin.
