"There is no part of your story God cannot redefine. There is nothing - absolutely NOTHING - too broken for God to redeem and reweave into something beautiful." - @mountainsunmoved
Our online, self-paced healing retreat starts today! ❤️ It's basically a DIY Retreat. I’m sharing one of my favorite talks from the retreat in my stories today — the one that includes the quote above. You can also sign up for the retreat through the link in my profile.
Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it. Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it. Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfill it. Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is luck, make it. Life is too precious, do not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it. ~ St Teresa of Calcutta #catholicwomen #cathoilcmotherhood #traditionalcatholic #traditionalcatholicism #traditionalcatholicfemininity #modesty #catholicism #romancatholic #marianmodesty #catholicmarriage #catholichusband #catholichusbandandwife #catholicwife #catholicfamily
Prayers for a single person for a good spouse
O Jesus, heart of all my life, in all confidence I open my heart to You to beg Your light and assistance in the important task of planning my future. Give me the light of Your grace, that I may decide wisely concerning the person who is to be my partner through life. Dearest Jesus, send me such a one whom in Your divine wisdom You judge best suited to be united with me in marriage. May their character reflect some of the traits of Your own Sacred Heart. May they be upright, loyal, pure, sincere and noble, so that with united efforts and with pure and unselfish love we both may strive to perfect ourselves in soul and body, as well as the children it may please You to entrust to our care. Bless our friendship before marriage, that sin may have no part in it. May our mutual love bind us so closely, that our future home may ever be most like Your own at Nazareth.
O Mary Immaculate, sweet Mother of the young, to your special care I entrust the decision I am to make as to my future spouse. You are my guiding Star! Direct me to the person with whom I can best cooperate in doing God's Holy Will, with whom I can live in peace, love and harmony in this life, and attain to eternal joys in the next.
Amen. #catholicwomen #cathoilcmotherhood #traditionalcatholic #traditionalcatholicism #traditionalcatholicfemininity #modesty #catholicism #romancatholic #marianmodesty #catholicmarriage #catholichusband #catholichusbandandwife #catholicwife #catholicfamily
That he should be the man You called him to be
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love” (First letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians 16: 13-14).
Prayer: Lord, I entrust to You all the decisions of my husband, his projects, his worries, and his entire being. Help him to be strong in Your Love and anchored in faith. Give him the strength to be the man that You’ve called him to be: courageous, happy, and generous. Help him to grow in faith, hope, and charity. “Mother, look at this cross; oh! how beautiful it is! It has been my whole happiness during my life, and I advise you also to make it yours.” ― Saint Kateri Tekakwitha To Her Spiritual Mother Anastasia. I love the simple honesty, passion of faith and devotion of Saint Kateri. Worldly things really didn’t interest her, it was her spiritual blessings that she held most dear, non more so than her simple wooden cross of our beloved Jesus. Prayer to Our Lady of Lourdes
Blessed, most pure Virgin, you chose to manifest yourself shining with life, sweetness and beauty, in the Grotto of Lourdes.
To the child, St. Bernadette, you revealed yourself, "I am the Immaculate Conception."
And now, Immaculate Virgin, Mother of Mercy, Healer of the Sick, Comforter of the Afflicted, you know our wants, our troubles, our sufferings. Look upon us with mercy.
By your appearance in the Grotto of Lourdes, it became a privileged sanctuary from which you dispense your favors.
Many have obtained the cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and physical. I come, therefore, with confidence in your maternal intercession.
Obtain for us, O loving Mother, this special request. Our Lady of Lourdes, Mother of Christ, pray for us.
Obtain from your Divine Son my special request if it be God's will.
Amen.. First kid: says every part of the Rosary accurately, extra slow and at least one word behind, and *extra* audibly. Second kid: choleric...so she says it perfectly, unless she didn’t get to finish saying alllllll of her intentions, then she cries for half of the Rosary. Third kid: working her way up to a decade. Usually says the “Holy Mary, Mother of God” part while my husband is in the middle of “Hail Mary,...” Fourth kid: Loudly shouts “Hail Mary God AMEN!” sporadically all throughout, and has learned to yell “Not done yet!” when he’s adding his “intentions.” Wanders around, distracting anyone he can. .

This summer marks two years of the daily Rosary for our family. It’s never ever picture perfect. Sometimes it’s a wreck. But I can truly say it’s changed our lives, completely. I honestly used to think the daily Rosary was nearly impossible, and with kids? Absurd to imagine it. When we started meeting families that prayed it daily, with babies, with ornery toddlers, with big kids...when I learned from other mothers that it could be rough at times, but they made it happen every day no matter what...it made it more approachable, something we were willing to try to commit to. Maybe you don’t have that community, telling you that you CAN do this every day with your family. Let me be one of your encouragers - you can do this, and it WILL rock your world and change your life. #dailyrosary #becausemarysaidso #ourladyoffatima #queenoftheholyrosary
Last night, like every night since Sunday, Toby woke screaming. And he didn’t stop. Not after 5 minutes. Not after 15. Not after 30. He screamed and screamed for what felt like an eternity, arching his body, fighting my grip, trying to throw his whole self out of my arms.
No matter how much I rocked and sang and soothed, the cries went on. My boy was furious: furious with the coughs wracking his body, furious with the burning pain in his chest, furious that he was awake when all he wanted was to close his eyes and sleep once more.
I knew he would. I knew he’d sleep again. I knew the medicine we gave him was working its way through his body, and that the pain would disappear. But it would take time. Medicines don’t have their full effect right away. We don’t feel the good they do on the spot. They choke us and gag us going down, then leave a terrible taste in our mouth. Only time reveals their healing power. Only time shows us that health was being restored, even while we hurt.
I wanted Toby to understand that. With every bone in my body, I wanted to communicate to him that it was going to be okay, that I was helping him, not hurting him, that all the pain and fury would soon be at an end. But I couldn’t. He’s just a baby. He can’t understand. So all I could do was hold him and rock him and cry with him, while the medicine did its work.
But as we rocked and sobbed together, I saw Jesus, rocking us in our pain, crying with us in our pain. And I knew he was promising that help had been given. I knew he was trying to soothe us and comfort us and assure us that grace was doing its slow, healing work in our hearts and lives and world.
But most of us couldn’t hear him either. We couldn’t understand why we had cried out for help and no help seemed to come. So we kept crying and writhing and trying to launch ourselves out of his arms, into nothingness.
I don’t know Jesus’ heart. But I know my mother’s heart, and I know it was made in his image. So, if that’s you right now, screaming through a long dark night, believe this mother when she says, Jesus hears you. He’s with you. He‘s holding you. He‘s helping you. It just takes time
. . . you should know that there is present with you the angel whom God has appointed for each man. . . This angel, who is sleepless and cannot be deceived, is always present with you; he sees all things and is not hindered by darkness. You should know, too, that with him is God. - St. Anthony of Egypt.
