What’s holding you back from obtaining your goals?
For me it was lack of belief. Belief that things would work for me, and belief in myself that I could do hard things.
Well let me tell you a little something... YOU CAN do anything you WANT to do. If you are serious about something don’t come up with lame excuses like I did! You don’t have time? Make time! Don’t feel like it? Well get up off your butt and do it until you do.
There’s about 1 year and a half difference between these photos, and a new Abbie who decided if she wanted something she’d do something about it. There were no quick fixes, or fad diets, no cuts, just someone who decided to give their best every single day. Was I perfect? Absolutely not. But did I continually try and stay consistent? Hell yes!! I’m excited to start the adventure of becoming an online health coach, also I am working on my FNS certification. I would love to help you all reach your goals. Four months ago & 4 months post-op, I resumed working on Back Squats by doing squats to a box using an empty barbell — today I squeaked my way back into the 200# Club with 1 rep at 205# ☺️ I’m not back to my full capacity, and may never get there, but I am grateful for the progress that I have made and will continue to focus on what I can do & not what I can’t (well, can’t do YET ). cred: @uh_lonna

My lower abs aren't as strong as my upper abs. I think I did 2 and a half(ish) sets of 10 its frustrating remembering how many I used to do before I got sick but I am happy with my progress over the past 2ish years.

I wanted to write a blog about all these things but alas, here is the list instead.
UNMET EXPECTATIONS:
▪️Probably not running a marathon by December/ January like I had hoped.
▪️Definitely not sleeping through the night and on some perfectly defined schedule like I assumed we would be (although, we are working on getting better at it...see stories).
▪️The emotional roller coaster that was our first 2-months if breastfeeding (that is on the blog if you want to read about it).
Surpassed expectations:
▪️My body didn’t change as much as I imagined it would (I was expecting and mentally prepared to gain 50lbs to be honest).
▪️Lovng workouts at home and surprised at the consistency I’ve been able to workout ... 3 days a week for 6 months straight of @expectingandempowered and I feel so functionally strong!
▪️Just how much I love this little man and love being his mom. I knew I would fall in love but I wasn’t expecting just how natural motherhood would feel.

I’ve been stepping up my lifting game a little bit more lately and I have been feeling the DOMS for sure. I didn’t really feel like lifting today since I’ve been sooo sore and i don’t really do a lot of conventional cardio bc it’s hardio lmao sooo today I did a little treadmill workout and it kicked my butt! Don’t worry there is not any running involved for all my non-runners like me ♀️ If you want to try it out my workout is as follows:
5 minute warmup walking on an incline between 3-5 with speed of 3.00 mph
Then you are going to alternate between an incline of 8-10 walking at 3.5 mph for two minutes then you are going to bring your incline down to 3.5-5 and bring your speed up to about 4.00 mph. Walk for 30 minutes alternating your speed and incline and then make sure to do a cool down for about five to ten minutes and do some static stretching when you’re done.

Woke up early this morning for some serious cardio and bleachers! 90 mins worth The weather has been so nice, getting up and going outside first thing is a god sent. It wakes me up, makes me feel extremely positive and pumps me up for the rest of the day! Also walking with my two favorite people in the world, makes it even better☺️ If you’re ever lacking motivation, grab a friend. I’m lucky enough to have a competitor who’s in prep AND someone who loves walking as much as I do. Once we get moving, we start talking and the time flys by. Although I love working out, some people HATE it. Which I can understand sometimes. But finding someone to workout with can take the dread out of getting to the gym or going out for a walk/run! It makes it seem less like a workout and more like a hang out. I really enjoy the social aspect as well as the sweating, being out of breath while telling a story, watching for cars, looking at dogs in their yards and smelling fresh cut grass
