Found this throwback from the very first retreat I ever hosted in May 2017! I will never forget closing out this retreat, packing up, and sobbing all the way back to temecula. I felt so much gratitude and accomplishment. I knew this was the first of many transformational events I would get to facilitate. I am sooo ready to launch my next glamping retreat- it’s going down in Northern California this summer and details are getting released this week. Who’s excited for some spiritual healing and connection in the wilderness?! ✨

At any point in your day, you are taking action that will have you either moving “away from” or “towards” what makes you happy.
If for example, your happiness relies on having a close and loving relationship with your partner, and you are in the middle of a “heated discussion”, moving away from your happiness may include saying hurtful things that you will later regret. Moving towards your happiness may include taking a breath and trying to be more understanding, forgiving or empathetic.
Or if your happiness includes spending time in nature and moving your body, a move away from happiness may be wasting your Sunday afternoon scrolling through social media on the couch. A move towards happiness may involve putting on your sneakers and taking a walk in the park.
For some simple ways to do more "moving towards" and less "Moving away" read my latest BLOG.

ARE THE STORIES WE TELL OURSELVES USEFUL?
⚡
I've been experiencing a great deal of change in my life lately, and what I'm noticing is that I have an opportunity to create a new story. One filled with a deep connection to the community, lots of play, and more support than ever before!
⚡
I've been creating behind the scenes these last few months, and I'm delighted to share some new developments with you, my Instagram family.
⚡
I've been spending more time in my facebook group "Core Connectors" to develop a deeper connection and more consistent communication with the community.
⚡
We now have a weekly broadcast with tips and tricks to support your relationships in the facebook group on Thursdays at 1:11 pm CT.⚡ Tonight at 7:00 pm CT, we are having our first connection call, where community members have the opportunity to go deeper with each other and with me.
⚡
I invite you, to join us in the Core Connectors facebook group for either of these weekly opportunities for connection. (We'll post the replay too)
⚡
And, we'll be growing into more Instagram offerings too. For now, we've got a great group of people who are devoted to creating more connection for themselves, with others, and with communities.⚡If that sounds like you, come on by!I'd love to get to know more about you.

Jeri Ward was only 30 years old when she had a life-altering clot-provoked stroke. She had a headache for five consecutive days with no relief. One evening, she was sitting on the couch with her husband, when she felt a loud pop and heard a fizzing sound in her head, similar to firecracker. It was followed by extreme dizziness and blurry vision. She was unable to move or speak for several seconds, and once she did, her words made on sense: Jeri was terrified. She got to the hospital ten minutes later and was diagnosed with blood clots in the frontal lobe of her brain. Doctors told her ten minutes longer may have been too late.

Oh, the decision that is a 200hr yoga teacher training! It took me a few years of toying with the idea of doing a YTT, determining costs, figuring out the schedule, etc etc (you know...all of the usual questions) before I finally bit the bullet and signed up. One of my biggest hesitations was that I really wasn't sure if I wanted to teach or not. I knew I loved yoga. I knew that I wanted to immerse myself in it and learn as much as I could. But, I didn't know if I wanted to teach. And, ultimately, I found out on day 1 of my 200 YTT that others in my group felt the same exact way! And, of course, there were those in the group that knew with 100% certainty that they wanted to teach. And that was okay too! And here's why....in addition to the foundational content in anatomy, alignment, philosophy, teaching methods, etc, a large part of the 200hr YTT is personal transformation. It's a time of self-study, immersion, and application of all that you are learning in YTT to your life outside of that YTT. It's a time where we become clear(er) on our strengths, our intentions, and our purpose. It's a time of exploration within a supportive community of like-minded individuals - all on the YTT journey. During that exploration, you might find out that you love teaching and you want to be of service to your community in some way - through private or group classes, through workshops, or other offerings. Or, you might determine that you aren't ready to teach or don't want to teach in the community. All of these outcomes - are incredibly valuable! In all cases, you will use the 200hr YTT tools to be your OWN BEST TEACHER. Of you. Of yourself. It's an investment in you. And by getting clear on your purpose, you will enhance the community around you. I call that a win-win! ♀️
Won't you consider joining us at a @yoga_medicine 200YTT this year? I am leading the US-based training in Austin, Texas, and @rachel.land.yoga is leading the Spain-based training. We have incredible @yoga_medicine teachers on our teams: @alicelouiseyoga @lisa_hamre @cristinamkuhn @megankearney @briegal @alliegeeryoga @dianemalaspina_ Reach out to any of us with questions! xoxo ❤️ Photo: @_bethany_o
We are humbled to accept the Rising Star Small Business Award of the Year. It's hard to believe that in just a year and a half we were standing amongst the most reputable businesses in Lake Country. Our central ethos has always been community creation and community connection and we have been blown away by what we have seen and experienced to date, the growth and change is exhilarating. Although it was Kelly and I up accepting the award last night please know that without our incredible teachers, staff, students, and COMMUNITY we would not be where we are today. Thank you Lake Country!

Thank you @wcve for the feature!! As you all know, I’m big on community, so I was pretty excited to share our story about what we did at Champion Brewing RVA.

This past Christmas, we got together with the community to feed the homeless on Christmas day. We didn’t advertise it, we didn’t tell anyone we were doing it, we just did it. Chef Steven cooked turkey, gravy, green beans and everything else you could want for a holiday dinner. I set up a table here with all the food, plates and to-go stuff and went out to invite people in. There was someone at every table. There were lots of hugs and even an impromptu Christmas carol sing-a-long. It was great to come together and feed the community. - Eric Jackson, General Manager of Champion Brewing Company, #RVA .
