Okay so I recently discovered a big issue with Stormfly. One day it all of the sudden occurred to me that if I plan to enter her into a cosplay competition, I need to be able to get her on stage... While I’m wearing her... ‍♀️ . The stilts that I’ve made for her are very easy to walk in, very comfortable, and very stable. That being said, she has four giant ass claws on each foot which make walking in tight areas a bit of a chore. Basically I’m my own worst tripping hazard. The more I walk in them, the easier it is to avoid the toes of the other foot, but that still leaves the very big question of walking her onto a stage that will, without a doubt, have stairs of some sort. . I did a few tries just stepping up and down off my porch, which was actually not bad, but A) I’m not wearing the whole costume B) it’s just one step and C) it’s a very wide and open step. Like there’s no railing or anything. Stepping down was easy, but with normal short steps the only was to walk up is to go backwards so the toes don’t get in the way. . I watched the cosplay competition at Wizard World and I noticed the few people with big costumes simply walked in front of the stage instead. If any of you have any experience with cosplay competitions I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Like is a ramp an option? Could I walk in front of a stage?
