I spent a lot of extra time on this particular case because it was my first provisional implant crown. I watched tons of amazing YouTube videos that broke down the procedure step by step, consulted with faculty docs in clinic and asked a few of my favorite Instagram dentists for advice! Today I delivered the provisional and the patient to was incredibly pleased with the results! I took my time so that in the future with the next case, I will have a solid understanding of what is required! . . . Ps. Wax ups are a lot less miserable in clinic than sim clinic

Sim Lab | The first two years of dental school is spent mostly in sim lab. This is where we practice, learn, grow and “perfect” our craft. ... When I think back on my first few days in lab, I remember the struggles I faced and the fear of not knowing whether I would ever get the correct parameters or outline form. Time after time, I kept trying and without fail, improvement came. It’s never going to be our best on the first try, but with practice and endurance, our best will come! So keep trying and putting your effort into what’s most important and you will see results!

⠀ ⠀ It’s that time of year again... ⠀ Time for another round of finals. ⠀ Here are some study tips for ending the semester ⠀ ✔️ Figure out which class or classes need the most work to get the grade you want and calculate what you need to get. ⠀ ⠀ ✔️Delegate the majority of your time to review for that class. If your finals were like mine, I pretty much had 1-2 weeks to study. I spent most of my week on classes that needed work and rationed the rest of my time for the other classes. ⠀ ⠀ ✔️For concepts I don’t remember, I would re-listen to recordings on that particular subject and commit it to memory. I love Microsoft OneNote. It has a feature where it marks the particular time when you started taking notes, and allows you to jump to that time in the recording without having to sift through it. It saves SO much time when reviewing. ⠀ ⠀ ✔️Review questions you got wrong as well as the ones that were correct! Go over why the answers were incorrect because chances are those concepts are important and will repeat on your final! ⠀ ✔️If you feel burnt out, I know I definitely did, get some good rest. So here’s an honest truth that I’ve been dealing with the past few months: I did not get into medical school this past application cycle. With that being said, if there is anything I learned from the entire process of applying to medical school it’s that if you do not get the results you were hoping for, IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. This realization has been the most liberating feeling I’ve ever experienced. There’s enormous pressure to get into professional school the first time around but sometimes it doesn’t happen and that’s okay. Yes I still struggle with the rejection but life keeps going and so can I. I’m continuously reminding myself of the blessings in disguise that will come from all of this (time to better myself, my application, explore other opportunities, etc.) but don’t get me wrong I am not giving up on my dream! Medical school is still in my path, I’m just taking a bit of a detour. So in the meantime, I’m trying to stay light-hearted and not take myself too seriously
