My books arrived! They are even cuter than I expected. I am so in love! I cried when I opened the package from Amazon. I wrote these books to make ramping up in data approachable & efficient! 70 pages - Python & SQL. Buy a copy and keep it at your desk instead of bookmarking tons of random stuff on stack overflow. I hope they are helpful link in my bio!

Here's my review of Python Crash Course Book by Eric Matthes.⠀ .⠀ The first half of the book is composed by: variables, data types, lists, if statements, dictionaries, user input, while loops, functions, classes, files and exceptions, and then unit testing. In other words: basically everything you need to know to start programming with python. The book offers a great explanation of each topic, which you can easily follow along with the code examples. The only problem I found in this part are the exercises. They are basically copies of the theory's examples, what ends up offering no challenge to the reader. So forget about problem-solving exercises for training. I know, I know... the book says it's a project-based learning. But choosing better exercises wouldn't do no harm.⠀ .⠀ On the other half, the book is divided in three projects: an Alien Invasion game built with Pygame; a Data Visualization project built with Matplotlib and Pygal; a Web Application using Django and deploying to Heroku. Although neither of them are in-depth projects - maybe the Django project being the most in-depth - they are all very good to show you the capabilities of the language and making you comfortable using the libraries.⠀ .⠀ What you won't find in this book: any of the famous algorithms, data structures, database integrations (only in the django project but it's completely automated), functional programming and more advanced topics.⠀ .⠀ The libraries in the book are outdated but the author provides updates in his website. Overall, I think it's a good book for beginners in programming.
