Happy Tuesday Instafamily!! Lazy day indeed !! Well since I m still not well and needed some TLC !! So we ordered this tender loving care dhokla and khandviand is it delicious!! Well I am not telling !! Can’t you tell by how it looks !! No adjectives today !! Just imagine the taste !! We forgot to get the chutney ( always happens) but we had some of our own in the fridge ! Sunday breakfast is sorted !! Now lunch !? That’s another story !!.

Ingredients to Make Dhokla Batter
Gram flour -1 cup
Sugar- 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Eno fruit salt -1 tsp
Water
Ingredients to Make Dhokla Syrup
Oil
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Green chili – 5 piece
Curry Leaves
Water 1/2 CUP
Coriander Leaves Chopped
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
Method
In a bowl, add the gram flour, add 1 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp salt, turmeric powder mix everything well
Add water and mix well
Whisk everything well, the batter should be of flowing consistency and not very thick.
Rest the batter for about 10 mins
Grease a cake tin with some oil
Heat a pressure cooker/ pot with some water
Place a stand inside and let the water come to a boil
Just before pouring the batter into the cake tin, add eno fruit salt and mix it gently
Pour the batter immediately into the cake tin
Place the cake tin
Close and steam cook the dhokla for about 25-30 mins on medium flame
Heat a pan with some oil, add mustard seeds and let it splutter
Add green chilies, and curry leaves
After few mins, pour water, add salt, sugar
Bring it to a boil and turn off the stove
Add lemon juice, coriander leaves and stir well
Check the dhokla and let it come to room temperature
Take the dhokla from the cake tin and cut it into squares
Pour the tempered ingredients onto the dhokla
Let the dhokla soak in the tempering
Finally garnish it with grated coconut and coriander leaves
The dhokla is ready to be served.

Moong Dal Dhokla Pucca traditional and perfect to the core, the Moong Dal Dhoklarepresents everything that dhoklasstand for – sumptuous, tasty and aromatic!

Ingredients
For The Moong Dal Dhokla Batter
3/4 cup yellow moong dal (split yellow gram)
1 tsp roughly chopped green chillies
salt to taste
1 1/2 tsp sugar
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tbsp besan (bengal gram flour)
2 tbsp curds (dahi)
1 1/2 tsp fruit salt
For The Tempering
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1/2 tsp sesame seeds (til)
a pinch asafoetida (hing)
2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
For The Garnish
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tbsp grated coconut
For Serving With Moong Dal Dhokla

Method
For moong dal dhokla
To make moong dal dhokla, soak the yellow moong dal in enough water for 30 minutes. Drain well.Combine the yellow moong dal and green chillies and blend in a mixer using ½ cup of water to make a paste of pouring consistency.Transfer the paste to a bowl, add the salt, sugar, asafoetida, oil, turmeric powder, besan and curds and mix well to make a batter.Just before steaming, sprinkle fruit salt and mix lightly.Pour the batter into a greased 175 mm. (7”) diameter thali.Steam in a steamer for 10 to 12 minutes or till the dhokala is cooked. Keep aside.Heat the oil in a small non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds.When the mustard seeds crackle, add the sesame seeds, asafoetida and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds.Add the green chillies and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds.Pour the tempering over the prepared moong dal dhokla and spread it evenly.Sprinkle the coriander and coconut evenly on top.Cut the moong dal dhokla into pieces and serve hot with green chutney.

Spring onions
Few sprig of curry leaves
1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
2 tbsp oil
